Inside look at the AFD’s meeting with the Danish minister of foreign affairs
On friday the 25th of february, the Ambassadors for Dialogue were invited to meet the Danish minister of foreign affairs, Lene Espersen, for a meeting about democracy, the revolution in Egypt, Youth involvement, and the future of the MENA region. The meeting lasted for about an hour, and Mrs. Espersen was especially interested in hearing from the Egyptian Ambassadors for Dialogue. She asked them about their thoughts on different supportive initiatives that Denmark and the EU had been discussing, and also wanted their view on what was going to happen in the months to come. Watch the small recap of meeting above.
Kind Regards, Jacob Mouritzen
Did they have to die??
(A quick review of the Egyptian revolution)
I assume you all heard about what’s been going on in Egypt and I guess most of us had/have certain feelings towards this revolution.
Now after the demonstrations are done and people finally achieved there victory and the freedom they’ve been seeking I think we need to take one more brief look at the whole thing.
No one can deny the overwhelming success this rampage attained, But on the other hand no one can deny the gigantic amount of both human and economic losses Egypt had to face.
During the commotion we heard some people saying that dialogue should be conducted immediately …. Some others said that it’s too late for dialogue and the system already wasted all its chances…and many others said that we would accept a dialogue implementation but not before Mubarak steps down.
But what do you think guys?!
Could dialogue somehow have contributed in solving out this issue?!!
(if yes in what way?? And if no why??)

Share your reactions to Hosny Mubarak stepping down!
Today is a historical day in Egypt, where 18 days of massive demonstrations have proven successful. 45 min ago it was made official that now former president Hosny Mubarak has stepped down!
I would LOVE to hear YOUR reaction to this. Either how you felt, when you first heard it, or what your thoughts are about it now.
Were you happy? Sad? More than happy? Surprised? Relieved? Or something else?
And perhaps also share, what you think the future will now be for Egypt. Is this what was needed? Or does the Egyptians have more things, they need to take care of, before their dreams can come true?
Should the West side with the Egyptian revolution?
On my facebook-profile I have criticized some of the comments made by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and US-spokepersons about the Egyptian revolution, in which they called the current regime “an important ally”, “an anchor for stability” and especially in the first days of the protests were reluctant to talk about democracy.
To this I said that “The US still has a failed Middle East-policy”.
Some people disagreed with me about the Middle East-policy being a failure and were confused why people were suddenly angry at the US. Others supported me, and told me that it was not just the US, but also EU, which had a failed policy.
I would be interested in hearing the readers of this blogs opinions about the matter.
The important thing for a foreign affairs policy must be, Read more…
Freedom or Free Doom?
In regards to the ongoing protests in the Middle East, many western news agencies, and politicians are reluctant to support the protests because they do not know what the outcome will be. The fear in the west is that the protests in Egypt will end up in another dictatorship, controlled by fundamentalists / Islamists (such as the Muslim Brotherhood), and that the demand for freedom once again will be suppressed. Is the Egyptian middle-class strong enough to carry the burden of the country? Or will Egypt continue on the path of downfall? Read more…
